Is AI going to replace service agencies?

In short... yes... it already is starting to.

This year has been hard on business owners…

I talk to agency owners & business owners every week and I have heard the same thing…

This year has been HARD for a lot of reasons…

  1. Recession like market (yet we aren’t in an official one)

  2. Political hesitations (looming election)

  3. Revenues from tech companies at all time highs with record layoffs

And looming in the background of all of this is the problem child… AI.

Why is AI influencing the market?

In short, it’s not that AI is necessarily replacing your job and your role…

In fact, from most thought leaders, it is generally accepted that AI serves as a valuable augmentation to most white collar jobs.

BUT

Tell that to the CEOs and the Founders that are struggling to keep costs down right now?

Who holds the money? CEOs…

When a CEO hears,

Look at this cool tool - it can write blog posts and make websites from text.

They immediately think - cut costs. use tool.

(and I don’t blame them - I am in the same boat)

To accelerate all this, think back to how the market is doing and you see why there are record layoffs.

If a CEO thinks AI can do your job, then you are cooked.

Doesn’t matter if it’s true or not.

So what’s the silver lining?

Well, truthfully, AI is taking a lot of roles.

  • Designers

  • Web Dev

  • Content Marketing

  • Video Editing

  • Video Creation

These roles are starting to disappear the more and more that CEOs hear about the cutting edge softwares that automate these things.

If you are a service agency, how do you survive?

There’s only a few ways you can…

  1. Utilize personalized content mediums that cannot be automated by AI like a podcast

  2. Conduct first party research - AI only regurgitates content so collect data that AI doesn’t have it’s hands on and publish it

  3. Prioritize strategy instead of implementation - position yourself as a thought leader and a strategist instead of a do-er

  4. Demonstrate how your work contributes to revenue
